This week, AAI submitted comments to Iowa DNR’s Environmental Protection Commission in support of approving the proposed administrative rule that would establish Grain Vac BMPs for small grain elevators.
The Grain Vac BMPs were developed collaboratively between the AAI Grain Committee’s Grain Vac Task Force and the Iowa DNR’s Air Quality Bureau. The goal of the Grain Vac BMPs is to improve retailer operations to mitigate fugitive dust for the mutual benefit of businesses and local residents.
Members are encouraged to submit comments of support to the Environmental Protection Commission by emailing Christine Paulson, Iowa DNR Environmental Specialist Senior at [email protected].
The comment deadline is Monday, June 16.
